October 2017 Hansen’s Quarterly Charity Draw

Congratulations to Keith Congdon, Halifax based Auto handler, who won the random Charity Lottery this quarter!

As our company grows, it becomes increasingly important to give back to our communities. With this in mind, in 2014 we started an employee lottery. All of our employees with more than one year of service are entered into a quarterly draw. The draw is completely random and not at all performance based. The winner chooses a registered charity or organization that is important to them, and Hansen’s supports this with a $2500.00 donation.

Keith has asked us to support the Colchester Community Workshop.  This Truro, NS program has been providing vocational skills development and personal growth assistance to adults with intellectual disabilities since 1999.  This program is particularly special to Keith as they support a family member.

Montreal is a live city.  We interact with so many great companies.   It’s been a non-stop growth.

What do you enjoy about the shipping / relocation industry?

Being constantly on the move with different customers, locations and requests

Where do you see car shipping and vehicle relocation going in the next 10 years?

10 years… technology has moved so fast.  Although we are already amongst the top car carriers in Canada and have become automated when it comes to cargo, we still like to see the personal service we offer and not be talking to a machine.

What’s your fast growing service / route?

We have developed greatly in Northern Quebec, Saguenay, Baie-Comeau, Sept-Iles.  A few years back I remember saying we will be sending our truck there and stop using 3rd party.  It has happened.

What new and exciting changes do you have planning for the coming future?

Developing the A team in dispatching.

What new technologies are adding value to your customer relationship?

Our ability to be proactive with our customers.  Providing a real-time location of where a customer’s vehicle is.

What’s your favorite feel-good shipping story this year?

Every time a customer says Thank you!

How will you give back to the community this year?

We associate with our employees when their children collect monies for school projects, sell the famous chocolate.
